Maybe we'd been spoiled by all of the incredible food, but the room service burger was ICKY, and the kitchen needed to know. Since Elise is a little wimpy (Truth!), we didn't send it back, but we did leave a strongly-worded note for them to throw away for us.

Ride the streetcars on NOLA! Pretty fun addition to the adventure.

Not food-related, but this house on our walk back to the hotel had an adorable lending library out front. Great idea with all of the foot traffic here.

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives cane through again. Mahoney's had great po' boys. Needed a little salt, and since most places we went we didn't need to season our food, the need for salt made this spot low man on the totem pole. Still very good, though.

Peacemaker= fried oysters with bacon and cheddar

Peacemaker and chicken liver poboys from Mahoney's on Magazine

Put away the Vietnamese tasties and stopped to look at the Superdome from our hotel floor.

Piggy cake!

Meat pastries...before the attack of the ravenous

Dong Phuong Bakery and Restaurant

Dong Phuong meat pastries. So good! The green one and the one to the left have the same ingredients (pork sausage, boiled egg, and something else ?). Not like anything we've ever had before. Delicious! The dough was slightly sweet, which really brings out the flavor of the pork. The bottom two were pork with onions (L) and pork with water chestnuts (R). Lots of piggies made the ultimate sacrifice, but we think it was worth it.

The sandwich counter at Dong Phuong. We got the grilled pork. It had carrots, cilantro, cucumber, some kind of pate' spread with a creamy yellow spread. No idea what these were, but it was CRAZY good. Had a nice spicy kick to it. Their fresh-made French bread is fantastic, btw. The line for this place was LONG.

Pastries from Dong Phuong Bakery. We gave the little cup with the frosting chicken to our cab driver, and it was so adorable that she wanted to show it to her sister before eating it. We kept the piggy chocolate cake as an homage to this entire trip. Haha!

The Jameson grilled cheese made with local artisan bread.

Pork belly po' boy from Killer Po Boys. Amazing flavors! You have to look for it in the back room of Erin Rose, but it's well worth it.

New Orleans beer tap

Sampling a local IPA in the hotel. Not the best financial decision, maybe, at ten dollars a glass, but Magnolia Timberbeast is dandy.
